To be honest, I much rather prefer her old design, and here is why:

1: In this current design she has a bit too many conflicting colours, the black, the purple, the orange, the red, the teal and the brown clash, but not in a good way, typically it is best to stick to 2-4 colours for a palette for Sonic characters that meld well, and while a variety is good, such as shown by my character Nikki the Panda, she does have many colours, but those are colours are muted, where as here with Alex's new design the colours are very "hot" colours as I would call them, and when mixed together for the eyes, is rather a bit displeasing. I would suggest at least muting the colours a little for her outfit.
2: The robotic arm she has, I know this may sound like a weak constructive criticism here, but I'll try my best. I would suggest looking at pictures of the robotic/metal characters in the Sonic franchise, examples being Shard the Metal, Metal Sonic, Bunnie Rabbot or Cassia the Pronghorn. There seems to be almost no way to tell that her arm is metal, had I not known, I would have thought it was a strange glove she was wearing. And thus brings me to the question of "Why teal" for her metal arm? The teal seems out of place since its shown in the Sonic Universe that if a characters arm is metallic, besides silvery-gray, if the arm has any extra colour on it, it would be the same colour as their main fur colour, thus the teal makes no sense. I mean, Neither Julie-Su nor Mighty have teal in their designs, so that can't attribute to Alex's design, so I'm sorry but teal seems to be a very odd colour choice.
3. The third point and the last one I will bring up is Alex's hair. I can understand her front bangs since Julie-Su has partial hair, but the back of her "Hair" leaves me rather confused. You see, Julie-Su has dreadlocks which are actually spines/quills whereas Mighty has a armoured shell. It appears that you gave Alex just straight hair, which doesn't make sense given her parents. As shown by every single echidna in the Sonic Universe, their dreadlocks/quills can't be shaped to turn up like that, and they definitely have more than two dreadlock/quills. However if the back of Alex's "Hair" was meant to based off of Mighty's shell, that design choice makes even less sense, you see, a armadillo's shell is meant to protect them, and as shown by Mighty, the shell he has goes down to his bottom and is attached to his back and he can curl up into a ball with it to protect himself. If that is indeed meant to be Alex's shell, it makes no sense, simply because it isn't of any use design wise, it would be virtually useless since she would not be able to curl up in a ball for self defense simply because her shell is too small. That and an armadillos shell doesn't split in two like that, even if she could curl up into a ball with it in such a tiny space, there is still the split in her shell that could leave her very vulnerable to attacks, which would not be good. And shells can't turn up that way, same as Echidna's quills can't naturally do that.

As for her old design, it takes a perfect blend of an echidna's dreadlocks/quills and an armadillo's shell and blends them in a way that not only looked cool but was actually useful. While her outfit was bland, it didn't contrast so badly with her overall character look to become a bit displeasing to the eyes, and honestly just something about it overall appeals to me more and says "This is Mighty's and Julie-Su's" kid. Here in this design I would have just assumed she was a random fancharacter you made who wasn't related to anyone, had I not read the title.

I hope you don't mind this long comment, because I really want to help you the best that I can. Please understand, I am in no way trying to be mean, I'm just trying to give you the best critique I possibly can.
